Research Interests

my main research interests are to understand seismic wave propagations in the earth, to study the earth's seismic structure, and to interpret seismic heterogeneities in the earth's mantle/crust in terms of temperature and chemical variations.  In particular, we develop 3D Born sensitivity kernels for surface-wave phase, amplitude and polarization measurements, and image the global mantle S-wave velocity structure, radial anisotropy as well as 3-D attenuation structure by finite-frequency tomography.  I am also interested in crustal structures from P-wave code and the earth's lowest mantle from core-mantle diffracted phases.

Graduate Students

I am looking for motivated graduate students to work on seismic wave propagation problems  and mantle structure.
