2005 Geosciences Alumni-Faculty
Homecoming Dinner
and
Celebration of the Careers of
Professors Donald Bloss and Lynn Glover, III

Dear Geosciences Alumni,

Please join us for the Eleventh Annual Alumni-Faculty Dinner on Friday, September 30, 2005, at the brand new Skelton Conference Center (see directions below). We invite you to bring your family and friends, renew old friendships, and make new ones while enjoying the beautiful new facility! The social with cash bar begins at 6:00 p.m. The buffet dinner begins at 6:45 p.m. (Dinner reservations must be received by September 16.) After dinner, we will celebrate the careers of Donald Bloss and Lynn Glover III (B.S. ’52; M.S. ’53).

Our celebration beings with two Friday afternoon lectures in 4069 Derring Hall, 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., to honor Drs. Bloss and Glover.

Please reserve your hotel rooms as soon as possible because lodging is in strong demand and many area hotels sell out early. For your convenience, the Department has reserved a block of rooms (please see below for a list of hotels).

For more information on these rooms or information about the event, contact Mary McMurray, Department of Geosciences, (540) 231-6521 or mcmurray@vt.edu. We expect approximately 75 people, and we hope that will include you!

Sincerely,
J. Donald Rimstidt, Chair, Geosciences Department
Robert J. Tracy, Assistant Chair, Geosciences Department
Michael F. Hochella, Jr., Professor and Chair, Alumni Relations Committee
